Helping Tarahumara School Children in Copper Canyon, Mexico

Students grateful for donated supplies
Road Scholar participants attending programs through Mountain Trails Outdoor Learning Center (formerly Davis Mountains Education Center) donate money and school supplies to benefit the Tarahumara school children in the Copper Canyon region.
The students and teachers appreciate the school supplies, vitamins, and sports supplies including a basketball net and backboard. Money from participants has helped to build new facilities for the school children in this economically challenged region.
Note: We are currently able to accept monetary donations and small quantities of supplies carried in personal luggage by participants traveling to Mexico on our educational tours. Because of strict regulations about transporting freight into Mexico, we can no longer accept boxes of supplies for the Tarahumara Schools. We simply have no way of getting large quantities of supplies into Mexico. We appreciate your support & understanding.
