Mountain Trails Outdoor Learning Center (formerly Davis Mountains Education Center) strongly believes in the importance of educating young people about acting responsibly to protect the environment and instilling in them an appreciation and respect for nature. 

We provide safe, supervised instruction in a variety of topics in science, history, language, culture, and the environment. Through our high-quality educational programs, students learn real-life skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.

Our outdoor education programs include field trips to our partner organizations in the Davis Mountains and Big Bend. While in Fort Davis, students and chaperones stay in cabins and eat home-cooked meals in the dining room at the Lodge. On field trips to Big Bend National Park or other attractions in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico, including Guadalupe and Carlsbad Caverns National Parks, students stay in partner hotels and eat in popular local restaurants. We can provide transportation in vans or busses, or schools can choose to use their own transportation.
